All our perennial plants that are currently available to ship.
Bespoke, rare and wonderful plant varieties which are often hard to come by. Over the past few years, Aila has been building her cut flower perennial selection in the flower fields. The fields are teeming with over 200 different varieties of perennial flowers, all grown and germinated by Aila. Hands in the Dirt now has a perennial plant nursery offering almost every variety that is currently in the flower fields. A huge range of plants suited to every environment, Aila has grown all that is available in the nursery to ensure that it can grow well in New Zealand’s climate. As we are a small nursery, we are focused on ensuring there is a hugely diverse range of plants rather then mass amounts. New plant varieties are available almost weekly. Some varieties are available consistently in the nursery whilst others may only appear briefly.
Private viewings are welcomed throughout the week with one of our perennial fields also available to look at during the Summer months.

We take pride in offering high-quality plants to our customers. However, please note that, once purchased, the responsibility for the care and survival of plants is transferred to the buyer.
Plant Condition at Purchase: All plants are inspected for health and quality before leaving our nursery. Upon receipt, you are advised to carefully inspect your plants. Any issues with the plant’s condition must be reported within 7 days of purchase for possible exchange or refund.
No Guarantee on Plant Survival: While we make every effort to provide you with healthy plants, Hands in the Dirt Plant Nursery does not take responsibility for the survival or health of plants after purchase. This includes but is not limited to issues caused by improper care, environmental factors, pests, or disease once the plant has left our premises.
Once the plant is in your possession, you assume full responsibility for its care and maintenance. This includes, but is not limited to:
Watering: You are responsible for providing the appropriate amount of water for the plant species you purchase.
Light Conditions: You are responsible for ensuring the plant receives the appropriate amount of sunlight based on its specific needs.
Temperature and Environment: You are responsible for placing the plant in a suitable environment, taking into account temperature, humidity, and seasonal changes.
Pest and Disease Management: You are responsible for monitoring and managing pests and diseases that may affect the plant after purchase.
Returns, Exchanges, and Refunds
Due to the perishable nature of plants, we generally do not accept returns or offer refunds once plants have been purchased, unless they are defective or damaged at the time of purchase.
Damaged or Defective Plants: If you receive a plant that is visibly damaged or dead at the time of delivery or pickup, please contact us immediately with photographic evidence for possible replacement or store credit. In cases where a plant is not viable, we may offer a replacement or store credit, but refunds are not provided.
No Return Policy for Plant Health Post-Purchase: Once plants leave our premises, we are not responsible for their health or survival. If a plant dies after purchase, it is your responsibility to determine the cause and take appropriate action. We are not liable for refunds or replacements in these cases.
